This page is written in plain language so it is easy to read. It explains the rules for using hallhonk.com and what happens with your information (spoiler: almost nothing). HallHonk™ runs this site, and “we” and “us” below mean HallHonk.
Terms of Use
By using hallhonk.com, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site. Kevin will understand. Eventually.
What HallHonk is
HallHonk is a comedy channel on YouTube and this is its website. It’s a parody of cozy, heartwarming holiday movies, starring Kevin, a goose in sunglasses.
All videos are comedy skits. They are made with AI tools, which means the visuals and voices in them are AI-generated. The people, places and events in the videos are made up for laughs.
Parody, not affiliated
HallHonk is parody and satire. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Hallmark, Hallmark Media, Crown Media or any TV network. Any trademarks mentioned or referenced belong to their owners.
Who owns what
The HallHonk videos, the Kevin character and the content of this site (text, images and design) are owned by HallHonk.
- Welcome: sharing links to the site or the videos with friends, family and the group chat.
- Not okay without our permission: downloading and reuploading the videos, or using HallHonk content, Kevin included, for anything commercial.
If you want to use something, just ask at support@hallhonk.com.
Other sites
The site links to and embeds content from other services, such as YouTube, Instagram, Threads, Facebook, Pinterest and X. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their content or how they work.
No warranty
The site and the videos are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. We try to keep things working, but we can’t promise the site will always be available, error-free or up to date. Nothing here is advice of any kind. It’s a goose in sunglasses.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, HallHonk is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss that comes from using (or not being able to use) the site or the videos. Your use of the site is at your own risk.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, USA, without regard to its conflict of law rules.
Changes to these terms
We may update this page from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the effective date at the top. If we add things like merch, ads or an email list in the future, we’ll update this page before they go live. Using the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Privacy
The short version: hallhonk.com does not ask for, collect or sell your personal information. There are no accounts, no sign-up forms, no payments and no analytics or tracking tools on the site.
What stays on your device
The site uses your browser’s local storage to remember two things:
- hh_honks: how many times you have honked at Kevin.
- hh_sound: whether you turned the honk sound on or off.
These stay in your browser and are never sent to us. You can clear them at any time by clearing your browser’s site data. Kevin will forget, but he may never forgive.
YouTube
The video thumbnails on the site load from YouTube’s image servers. When you press play, the video plays in a YouTube player using YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), and links to the videos open on YouTube. YouTube, which is owned by Google, may receive your IP address and may set cookies or similar technologies under its own rules. See the Google Privacy Policy.
To keep the “Tonight on HallHonk” lineup fresh, our server checks the public HallHonk YouTube feed for the newest videos about once an hour and saves the list of video titles. Our server makes that request itself, and no information about you is sent to YouTube as part of it.
Hosting logs
Like most websites, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs. These can include your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit and the time of the visit. They are used to keep the site running and secure, and we don’t use them to identify or track you.
Social media links
The site links to HallHonk on YouTube, Instagram, Threads, Facebook, Pinterest and X. If you click through, that service’s own privacy policy applies.
If you email us at support@hallhonk.com, we’ll get your email address and whatever you write. We only use it to reply to you.
Kids
HallHonk is general-audience comedy. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The site doesn’t collect personal information from anyone.
Changes to this notice
If we add merch, ads, an email list or anything else that changes what the site collects, we’ll update this page first and change the effective date at the top.
